Introduction

Jet VBS 18MW Bandsaw

The HP Designjet is an inkjet printer with the ability to print paper sizes up to A1 in full Pantone colour. The printer is located in the small machine room, opposite the laser cutter. It is great for printing out designs, or artwork as it is capable of high resolution so is great for things like jigsaw prints to then stick to a piece of board and laser cut, or if your wood working - print put your design 1 for 1 sized, and stick the paper to your chunk of wood and cut around it.

Using the Printer

We have a small stock of paper, in A1, A2, and A3 size, located in the yellow shelf's underneath, usually 3rd one down. Please leave the top sheet of A1 and use the sheets underneath, so the top one can catch all the dust :)

To use the printer, you need a laptop with a USB port. Just switch it on, and plug the grey usb cable kept curled up behind it. Windows will generally detect it and install the right print driver, but if not - the full drivers are available from the link below.

The drivers for it can be downloaded from here - https://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-designjet-130-printer-series/352387

The display:

Main Display

If the green led is on at the bottom left - this means the printer has power, but confusingly does not mean it is on.

There are 3 buttons

Cancel Job (Top Left)

Page Eject (Top Right)

Power On (Middle Bottom)

You can tell if the printer is actually powered on, if the background light in on, on the display is showing the 6 print heads and the ink cartridge levels:
