Introduction[edit]

HV-128 Horizontal Bandsaw

The HV128 is a horizontal bandsaw, suitable for cutting metal stock up to approximately 125mm across. It is not suitable for use on chromed or hardened steels, ABS, Polythene, Polypropylene, Glass or carbon fibre reinforced materials, and wood. The horizontal bandsaw lives on a purpose-built cart underneath the stairs in the Main Workshop.

There are no guards on the saw. Care must be taken to keep hands away from the blade while it is running. Safety glases are recommended while using the saw. Before use check the cable is undamaged, the saw is clear of obstructions. The saw takes a 1638mm long, 13mm wide blade (other widths will NOT work) and is normally left with a 14tpi carbon-steel blade fitted.
