Component Tester

Introduction[edit]

Component tester

A three-pin component tester and identifier. rLab has a couple of these devices which each work in the same way. They may be found on the shelves above the electronics benches.

Connect the part to the ZIF socket or the fly leads and press the button to start it working. The screen will give a readout of the type of component, the pinout and its characteristics. Note that this is a three-pin device. Each pin in the ZIF socket is numbered 1,2, or 3 to show which ones can be used.
