This block diagram shows the major components of the power electronics, however is out of date, as much as been replaced.

The power input to the VMC260 is via a 13A single phase power connection. The mains power feeds the Power transformer, the spindle controller, and the lighting circuit. Mains power is routed through a mains filter to the main power transformer. The transformer has the following windings:
* 23V @ 10A
* 18V @ 5A
* 10V @ 2A
* 8V @ 2A unused
The 23V transformer output is full wave rectified, and smoothed by a single 33000uF 40V Electrolytic Capacitor, to provide the supply for the stepper motors. This is passed via the normally closed contacts on the eStop button to the card frame. The DC voltage is a nominal 30Volts unregulated.

The 18V transformer output is full wave rectified, and smoothed by two 33000uF 40V Electrolytic Capacitors, to provide the logic supply for the stepper motor drivers. The DC voltage is a nominal 24Volts unregulated.

The 10V transformer output is passed to the card frame where it is used to provide the 12V unregulated and 5V regulated power rails.
