CUT-50 Plasma cutter
Introduction Edit
The CUT-50 Plasma cutter is a tool that can cut sheet metals using a jet of super-heated plasma in a way similar to a laser-cutter cuts through plastics. Using an electrical supply similar to a welder and a jet of high pressure air supplied by the compressor it melts a thin channel through the metal and sprays the molten metal out the far side of the sheet. Although this tool uses a technology similar to a welder it produces a much smaller heated zone and far less UV light so while it is still a tool that requires skill and knowledge to use safely, induction is recommended but not required. It's normally in the metalworking desk in drawer B3B, with the spares in a small tray in the same drawer. The CUT-50 Plasma cutter is a 50A plasma metal cutting system that can cut steel up to 6mm thick. It can cut aluminium, brass, and stainless steel as well but additional safety equipment is needed.
